Announcing a New On-Site Computer Classes REGISTER NOW For Ford Hourly Employees and Retirees - Offered through the University of Central Missouri. Classes are located in the UAW-Ford Computer Lab - In the tunnel opposite the cafeteria. If you need to improve your computer skills you can take advantage of these convenient on-site classes at Ford-KCAP. Business Information Technology will teach you how to build, implement and maintain a Web site. Computer Information Systems is an excellent beginning course where you will learn computer fundamentals and how to use Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel and Access. Also, there will be open lab sessions available to you for your individual help and tutoring. Your education benefit pays for these classes.
Afternoon classes meet from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Evening classes from 4:45 to 7:45. To enroll contact instructor Gary Lockhart by email at glockhal@ford.com or his phone number is 816-459-1905. You can also have him put you on the computer lab mailing list. Website address for submitting an ETAP on-line the process and will generate a voucher in three to four business days: www.myuawford.com. In the 2007 - 2011 National Agreement, members of UAW Local 249 are now entitled to a educational benefit of $5,000.00 per calendar year and a book reimbursement (you MUST send request for reimbursement within 90 days from the start date of the class) of $200.00 per year for degree related courses. Please note: As long as you register for a class in January and apply for the voucher in January the class will be paid for. As of February 1, 2009 some provisions of this benefit have been suspended pending more information.
